Don't Make Me Laugh

Don't Make Me Laugh

Coming up with and developing comedy formats is something I'm incredibly passionate about. BBC Radio 4 panel show Don't Make Me Laugh is one of the shows I've worked on that I'm most proud of. The premise of the show was to make comedians work against their natural instincts by having to talk about innately funny/silly topics in front of an audience without making them laugh.

David Baddiel and I worked on the concept and I was then a writer on every episode across two series of the show. Sadly the series was cancelled in the end after we apparently offended lots of Daily Mail readers by suggesting the Queen had had sex on at least four occasions. Admittedly, broadcasting the episode in which that was a topic on Her Majesty's birthday may not have been the smartest move of all time.
